Learning by Design

Supporting school-based

adoption of design thinking

Under DSg's Design Thinking in Schools programme, we bring the innovative, community-based design thinking programmes that we have successfully run with our host school St Andrew's Secondary to other schools in Singapore to amplify impact. We also work closely with other school partners to co-create new programmes that add value to their existing ones.

Typically, we incorporate training for educators to equip them with the know-how to apply the

design thinking frameworks and tools themselves, as well as to facilitate their students' practice.

Why Crater?

  • We are not only educators, but also designers and design thinkers in our daily professional work.

  • Our programmes are immersive and experiential, involving
community trails, learning journeys, the use of role-playing simulations that we design ourselves to hone 21st-century competencies and future-of-work skills, hands-on prototyping, and 'live' pitching.

  • We intentionally create opportunities for authentic engagement end-to-end with users and beneficiaries throughout the problem-solving process.

  • We adopt an interdisciplinary approach that also hones critical thinking, systems thinking and futures thinking skills,

  • to enable more robust and effective real-world
    problem-solving.

  • We connect students with our 200-strong network of
working industry professionals and changemakers for
    first-hand knowledge sharing
    and mentoring.
